“A wonderful way to see Charlottetown!”

It was a great way to get a better understanding of Charlottetown's history in general as well as how food fits in! Every stop was interesting, enjoyable and above all, tasty! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in getting learning a bit about Charlottetown and enjoying some tasty snacks.

Warm-hearted sharing of local food, specialties, & history

I was left with a highly favorable impression of PEI because of the graciousness of the people, exemplified by tour guide and the individuals he introduced us to who owned and/or operated the food establishments we visited. The background information and history provided enhanced the experience of
tasting the various food samples on the walk. After three days on the Holland American cruise, I found the samples on "Taste theTown" to be just the right portion size.

"We’re here on Experience PEI’s Taste the Town tour, hitting up Charlottetown’s top food spots. Minutes earlier, we had stood at the tour’s start—at Founders Hall, in this historic seaport of about 35,000—with our guide, Bill Dobbin, about to depart for a culinary walking tour that would wind around four blocks of the PEI capital..."

"For those visiting Charlottetown and craving a deep dive into the city’s food culture and history in one deliciously tidy slice of a morning, Experience PEI has got you covered. Their 3.5 hour Taste the Town tour is one of the company’s most popular, quite likely because it includes chowing down on seafood, freshly-cut fries (made with PEI potatoes, of course) and sampling local brews while exploring the city’s historic downtown. I had the opportunity to Taste the Town and had an absolutely wonderful time.'

"On a food-filled walking tour around Charlottetown’s historic downtown; in-between scoffing piping hot salt-spangled chips made with the island’s Russet-Burbank potatoes from the infamous Queen of Fries, slurping Malpeque oysters and sampling local Island blue mussels I learn how pivotal the city was back in 1864 to the creation of the confederation of Canada..."
